Hours aren't right.......we arrived at 3:50 PM on a Friday and they were closed. There was a truck in front of us and a car behind so we weren't the only ones. So we all had turn around and schlep over to Lowe's. This is why people don't shop local as much as they should......HD & Lowe's are cheaper and you know they'll be open when they're supposed to be. I know I won't be back.

This store is severely lacking in customer service!! The girl in the front, Sarah should not be working in customer service. She doesn’t want to work or help you, so she just doesn’t.
We walked in the other day and a guy working there was with other customers, he still greeted us, while she sat on her stool staring at her computer, and made a phone call. Never once said hi or we’ll be right with you. No joke, 10 minutes later standing right by the counter, the guy finished with his customer and then asked us if we had been helped, uh no, no we have not! He says oh sorry I thought you were, as she still just sat there staring at a screen, and said to him, “I’m doing something for so and so.” It was honestly the worst customer service I’ve seen in a while.

I never post negative reviews because I like to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with the same order for over a year. I ordered railing October of last year. The order was "delayed" for over 6 months due to covid. When we received it, it was the wrong color and pieces were broken. It then took another few months before they allowed me to return for a refund. The refund was supposed to be completed first week of July. After numerous emails and no response I have yet to receive the refund. The customer service is non existent in this branch.

Not a very professional place in my opinion. No place with any type of professionalism would tell multiple people why an employee got fired. I'm pretty sure that is a private matter that shouldn't aired to the whole world.

Purchased 3 dozen 2x4 studs for a shed shortly after they opened. Cost $1.50 more than HD or Lowes. Employees loaded trailer with what must have been rejected by contractors. 75% of studs were trash from being exposed to elements. Also purchased two sheets of 1/2” pressure treated plywood, same issue. Not only was It overpriced, but the edges were separating.

Forget Being A Local Hardware Store
Townsend is Better Than The Big Home Improvement Stores... Better Customer Services & Might I Add... The Prices Are Unbelievable... I promise you won't find everything you need anywhere else BUT HERE!!!!! EVERYTIME I ask if they Carry an Item ... Better Believe They Have It & Can Get It Delivered For You!!!! Thank You Townsend... You guys make my job EASY... TY

Brad and I forgot the other gentlemen's name, helped us out alot. We are building a sewing table for my wife and he walked us through some of tools and parts we needed. He even searched the entire building for parts that showed up in the system but wasn't in the spot it was supposed to be in. Let me not forget about the 3 dollar buck that you can fill up and get 20% off the items in the bucket. Definitely will be shopping there in the future.
