Eighteen months ago we were exploring Summit and Eagle counties in Colorado. We heard that Minturn was a rustic mountain town and decided to stop there to look around and eat lunch. We ran into an unexpected treasure in The Scarab, an intriguing shop on Main Street filled with wonderful handwoven rugs, jewelry and other handcrafted items from Turkey and other locations. We departed after purchasing carpets and some small Turkish made bracelets. Not only does the merchandise in the store merit a visit, but the interaction with the owners and their staff also made our time there worthwhile and enjoyable.

We returned to The Scarab just yesterday with high expectations based on our previous visit and our expectations were exceeded by the warmth of the customer service and the quality of the carpets we saw and purchased. We are sure to return every time we are in the area.

If you are looking for beautiful oriental rugs, artisan home goods and decor, and an amazing staff, don't miss The Scarab. Unique, original, and really cool stuff, along with beautiful hand made rugs. We've purchased a few rugs from here and the experience has been extraordinary - white glove service from beginning to end. Larry, Daniel and Janie spent hours with us helping to choose the right rugs to buy, allowing us to consider multiple rugs in our home before making a decision. The store is in the very cool town of Minturn, a 5-10 minute trip from Vail or Beaver Creek. Minturn alone is worth experiencing, so stop in to The Scarab while you're there.

This is the coolest store in a small little town right outside of Vail. A must see. The selection of unique and artisan made carpets is fantastic. They have jewelry, clothing ,a collection of rare antique guitars to see. The customer service was great, we bought a beautiful Kilim hall rug and the owner even put backing on it for us.
