I had an old federal style mahogany dining chair and a small mahogany “telephone table” that I was ready to throw away when I found the Painted Ox website. I filled out the form on their website and received a quote the same day for paining both items and reupholstering the chair seat. All in it took only 3 weeks from finding their website to picking up my fun new furniture pieces! Love them! Going back with an old trunk for the end of the bed next week!

A friend recommended The Painted Ox after I complimented her beautifully upholstered (some were also painted) furniture. I checked out the website and knew they would carry one of a kind pieces. I needed pillows so I traveled to their shop in Northwood Village in West Palm Beach. The area is filled with one of a kind and eclectic shops and restaurants (I ate lunch at the newly opened Grill Cheese Gallery and I ordered the Artisan White (Gouda, Swiss, Gruyère and cheddar on Artisan white bread. It was served with a cup of tomato soup - delish!).

The Painted Ox is so much fun to visit because it is filled with colorful furniture and accessories so you have to take your time. The owner, Lili, immediately introduced herself and suggested we check out the new furniture arrivals to see the “before” version before they re transformed. She also told us to visit the upstairs design studio which has books and books of fabrics and wallpaper. She does all her custom work in-house and the workshop is also upstairs. I worked with Sean to select four different fabrics for six pillows in my living room. He understood what I wanted and patiently opened book after book of fabrics. I placed the order no it was ready in two (?) weeks. I was thrilled with the end result and I highly recommend The Painted Ox.

FYI: there is plenty of free on street parking but The Painted Ox has their own parking lot next a painted mural on their building.

I’ve been a fan of the Painted Ox for years now. I’ve had great experiences buying and selling, and it was a pleasure doing business with the fine women who help and design in the shop.
I have since relocated and miss my visits to the store. But I relive the experience through their weekly emails filled with great products and even better ideas.

I searched all over for a place to recover two large wicker chairs, that was not outrageously expensive and that could do the work quickly. When I called Painted Ox they helped me to do everything online - sending photos, choosing fabric, paying bills, and the cost was more than fair. As for timing, they called to tell me the chairs were done two weeks before I planned to check in. They were polite, reasonable, did excellent work and my chairs look great. They even helped me find someone to deliver and pick up the chairs since I was out of town. I could not ask for better service and will use them again for sure.

I went in to just look around and happen to see workers fixing furniture. I bought a 70’s vintage sofa out of state and found out the springs were shot and very uncomfortable to sit on. Inquired about the cost of fixing. They were much more reasonable than other places I reached out to so brought it in. They sent me photos of the process and was finished in 2 days, almost a week ahead of schedule. Will definitely use them again. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the process. Very pleased with the outcome- super comfy now.
