Installed 2 very high end fireplaces in our new home. Neither ever worked well since install despite repeated visits. Then decided they'd only come back out to fix their issues if we paid $350 for a service call. For each fireplace. Just a total joke. I'd strongly suggest you read these negative reviews because they're all very accurate.

Rio Grande did our wood stove installation when we had our house built. It has been a very poor experience. First, they were delaying other aspects of the build because they did not install the stove pipe when they said they would. After installation was "complete", we received a mechanical affidavit from Jefferson County saying Rio Grande did not pull the installation permits and JeffCo would not inspect it. After we moved in, we noticed the stovepipe cutout in the ceiling was leaking water during a storm (which we had our roofer fix). And today, I found out the stovepipe and spark arrestor were not attached to the house. A mild wind storm blew last night and blew the entire upper section of pipe off the roof (See photo). It must have been very loosely attached and not fixtured properly. When I called and spoke to Jessica and her manager, they wanted $1500 to replace the pipe and fix the problem. I refused and politely said I would just do it properly myself, and she hung up on me. Very unprofessional. I suggest finding an alternate supplier and installer if you are looking for a fireplace. Very poor service.

UPDATE I ended up speaking with Mackenzie and she had a service technician out to my house the next day to repair the stovepipe free of charge. I did feel like she wanted to make it right and genuinely cared about turning my experience positive. She kept me updated by sending me a few text messages and overall, I think they did a great job on the repair. Adding a few stars back for the great follow-up customer service.

DO NOT USE FOR FIREPLACES. Thier installers are clowns. 1st they were needy about the framing, I had to have so some else tear a bunch of stuff out before they would mount anything. Then they did a hatchet job on the roof, and installed the chimneys crooked. Several calls and trip and hours of wasted time later they finally got it semi right. I had to hire someone else to patch the roof deck. The fire place were installed missing parts (fans and remotes bought up front) , and guards were installed incorrectly requiring tile rework. (which they said they'd pay for by haven't). Missing parts were "installed" by just dumping them in the bottom of the fireplace. At some point they broke one of the pilot light gas lines so one of them leaks gas and is a fire hazard.. They were also expensive. Never again...

We are doing a significant remodel and our fireplace is one of the major areas. Our GC hired Rio Grande to do the work. They came to do some work sporadically. Now we are at the end of the project and the fireplace is still not finished, so we can't get our final inspection. Calling them, they said they cannot come back for a month from the last time they were here. It is their "busy" time. Shouldn't you finish the project you started before you get "busy" with the next one? I doubt my GC will use this company again, if they have other choices. Our project manager and I are very frustrated, meanwhile I see a big hole in my wall above my TV where a vent is supposed to be installed.

What a great place to get supplies for updating our fireplace! I loved the selection of stone available and the knowledge of the staff. I loved that it like a custom experience and not a cookie cutter approach like commercial building supplys. I highly recommend this business for all sorts of remodeling needs. My fireplace remodel looks great thanks to Rio Grande
