I went this morning to collect an argos order on behalf of an English friend. I went to the store and gave the order details to one of the staff members who asked me to repeat the name on the order twice and looked at me in a weird way (because it was an english name and i didn't look english). I felt embarrassed. When they went to get my order, the manager whose name is Connor came from the back. He refused to give me the items unless i provided ID of the person who i was collecting the order for. I explained that this is not stated on the Argos website when placing an order. I also explained that this is the first time i have encountered this - As a personal shopper, I have never experienced this in any Argos store - I have never been asked to provide ID. Connor would have give the item to me straight away if I didn't look Asian. I have now had to inform my friend that he will need to send someone who looks English! Awful, shocking and disgusting from Connor and his staff!

I went in yesterday morning to collect and pay for my order. It was for two items, one was a very small box and the other item was very large and heavy that needed to be taken to the door on the trolley. My service was fine with the lady who took my payment for me but after that I wasn't impressed. When i collected my order I helped the guy with my items because he was struggling with keeping my item on the trolley and the doors, as I was also holding the small package. When we got to the doors, he asked me where my car was, I pointed it out and it was literally on the very first row of the carpark, not in the bay but the very first row! I understand that they are not expected to take it to the car especially if they are at the other side of the carpark but I wasn't impressed when he told me that my car had to be in the bay for him to help me (I wasn't going to move it because I was still shopping) so I took my small item to the car then I went back to collect the big heavy item, he was very happy to stand there and watch me struggle while I lifted it and tried carrying it to my car (that was on the first row) i understand there are rules but i think he was rude for not even helping me and watch me struggle.

I used to shop regularly at this store as I thought it was a good idea to support the high street instead of using Amazon.

I bought a kettle from them which filled the kitchen with a horrible chemical smell when I used it. They refused to refund the item as they said it was fine (I'd spent the previous day trying to boil and rinse the smell out of it).

Their own website has plenty of reviews reporting the same issue so they know there is a problem.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend using this company as they won't give refunds for faulty items (other reviews here say the same). Consumer protections are stronger online, so I'll be buying things from other retailers online in the future and I'd recommend others to do the same.

Absolutely awful customer service and ludicrous policy. I went into store to buy my children some packets of Disney Lego Figures, there are a total of 18 of the little figures to collect. £1.50 per packet. I decided that I’d get them 5 each and placed an order for 10 to be told that they could only give me 3 as per their policy of 3 per customer. I asked the gent if he could therefore process it as different transactions to be told no. I then asked what was stopping me from buying 3, then coming back 10 mins later buying another 3 and so on to which he told me I wouldn’t be served!! Are you having a laugh? Do you think I’m going to take your business down over £15 No logic at all. When he asked if I’d like the 3 I told him no that I’d take my business elsewhere and wouldn’t return. I managed to get all 10 without any issues in the next store I went into (not an Argos).

Think some people need some re training!

I find the staff quite friendly and helpful.

Not much different from most Argos stores. As review below said, there is 30 minutes free parking at Preston Station car park which is directly opposite.

I often use the click and collect service which is very quick and reliable.

I have been an Argos customer for many years and have spent thousands of pounds on my Argos card. One of the reasons I have dealt with them for so long was their excellent customer service. However over the last few months I have had occasion to return two faulty items and have been very disappointed with the attitude of the two senior staff who dealt with my complaint. On both occasions I was treated with a complete lack of respect and and refused a replacement for the faulty goods. I was advised by customer services to take the goods back to the other Argos store at Deepdale retail park where I was given a replacement and dealt with in courteous manner. I will not be visiting the Fishergate Store again

I bought a computer for my son today, I don't know anything about computers and I received very professional help, several different possibilities and after 2-3 hours everything was delivered to my house for very little fee.So ? Staff very kind and helpful and some people are always dissatisfied, no matter where they are and who they talk to.

Terry and dhamish are really bad managers, Alba £50 Tablet bought, after only 3 weeks screen cracked, under child use. We have used many tablets iPads etc. never have problems. Explained that these should be resilient to normal usage and not be so fragile, they decided they would not help fix or replace, they sell many thousands of these units.
Very bad service for customer who spends thousands at Argos. Do not be dealt with by Terry or Dhamesh.
