Pines Yankee Hardware in Yankee hill/ Concow is the WORST business ever!! RACIST as they come! DO not support them...If I could give ZERO stars I would..and do not get stuck in those mountains with the kind of rude racist people that work and live there...we had to go to this store because there was nothing else around when me and my family had an emergency when we were headed to reno the quincy way!They were rude...and whispered racial slurs to each other they didnt think i heard...along with being the most laziest old men I've ever came across! They shouldn't even work at a hardware store if your too old to even help or lift a finger for your customers! I am samoan but my husband is black along with my children being mixed!I will never return and don't recommend going there unless your WHITE..then maybe they will treat you with some respect!

The Pines continues to be a reliable hardware, post office, garden supply and feed store all mixed into one. There are mostly 😉 friendly, knowledgeable staff. The guys always load my animal feed unless I wave them off. The prices are definitely comparable to town, since they are the only store like it on the mountain. There’s a reasonable mark up. I am glad I can check my mail, send off soap orders, buy many necessary things from hoses to canning jars to fertilizer and promix all in a local place. We visit here weekly, if not more frequently.

Very polite, courteous and knowledgeable staff even the younger staff had the knowledge needed staff would walk you right to the section you needed and give you precise advice on your situation not just generalized. Being the only hardware store in the area for Miles you would assume the prices to be in the sky I have found the prices quite reasonable considering that my time is worth something and to travel to the super stores and back the time and gas alone doesn't make an even trade and any excuse I have to not have to go down off my mountain the better some people say the price for convenience I say preference and I got the bargain.

That's awesome, that little handware store is still there. My friend Monte McGrath and I went camping and mining along the river down by the Poe Powerplant, back in 1992. One of the best times of my life! Great memories. Wish I could find my old friend. The couple working there at the time were the owners. They said we looked so happy together, like newlyweds. Yes we both had wedding rings on, but we weren't married to each other. Monte had filed for divorce and me not having the ability to look into the future, my divorce came to an end after my daughter was born in 2000. 1 year after 911. Reward is someone can locate Monte and get ahold of me.

For 12 years this was my go-to hardware store (I moved out of the area 2 years ago). Always helpful. They know how to fix things, how to explain repairs clearly (although that really isn't their job) and prices are reasonable. Quality always excellent. Wish I could ship the store and everyone at Pines Yankee Hill Hardware out to my new location!

For it being the post office hardware store and grow shop, you're not going to find a better place. Carry many things for your garden you can't find at in town stores. Place rocks. God bless you guys. Be safe.
