I have a double cowlick that a lot of people who cut my hair have a problem handling even if they have had lots of experience, and I always have to tell them how to handle it.

I was too engaged in the delightful conversation to make mention of it until we were done. However, he had already handled it, and he did an amazing job, just the way I liked it.

This was my first visit here, and I plan on returning whenever I am in town.

Palo cedro Barbershop has been around for many years and was recently purchased by its new owner operator named Barry. I'm not sure if Barry is a cosmetologist or a barber as I noticed during my haircut Barry didn't use a straight edge razor. However Barry is very good at cutting hair; he's a recent transplant to the area from Santa rosa. Haircuts are currently $19 each and walk-ins are encouraged. If you come in and the wait is long you can actually schedule yourself for the following day at the time you specify if that time slot is available. This is done on a dry erase board behind the front door.
For those that may be curious, the previous owner Kirk has retired as I understand it and is dealing with the impacts of Parkinson's disease.
Grace has moved away to Oregon for a family emergency/death and is now a resident of Oregon.
Barry stated many of the historical pictures and items that were previously in the building are being donated to the Shasta historical society.

This might be the first review I've ever written. Had my hair cut by Kirk about 6 weeks ago and I liked the cut. I could tell he took his time and put a lot of care into his work. Got compliments from everyone to boot. Yesterday had my hair cut by the lady in there and now I can barely stand to look in the mirror without getting aggravated. Said she'd "even me out" and I've got every length from one to five inches up there. She even took it down the lowest at the thinnest spot on my head. Just shoddy work all around.
In hindsight I should have just waited a few more minutes for Kirk to finish with his previous customer. Instead I did the stupid modern male politeness thing and now when the wind blows I have a hearty five-inch alfalfa sprout out stick out the back of my head. (Not just talking a few hairs here!) It's a good laugh the first three or four times it happens but the joke wears thin pretty quick.
To make matters worse, I tipped her heartily not realizing the full extent of the job until after I showered... Boo lady, boooooo!

Let me say Iam not easy to please,,,It's hard to find a barber that can cut a flattop, but I have here at Palo Cedro Barber shop, and her name is Connie she did a fantastic job, I got lots of complements about my hair and ask who was the Barber, so if you want a flattop go see Connie you won't be sorry,,,
