I was on time constraint, I delivered fabric and ottoman to North Naples Upholstery, I was assured it would be finished in 3 weeks, on the outside 4 weeks, which was perfect, before our company arrived!
At 3 1/2 weeks I began calling, and was reassured it would be finished, tomorrow, then by Friday, then by Monday, yada yada yada..... The afternoon before our company arrived, I was told it would be done the end of next week! I told the receptionist I was coming after my ottoman and fabric....it was in the same spot I had left it in 5 weeks before...nothing had been done. The receptionist was not there...the man waved a copy of THEIR receipt, 5 weeks had been written and circled...not on mine!, which I had with me. The man was rude, mumbled in Spanish, under his breath, never made eye contact, unable to use the computer to refund my credit card. He then, had the audacity to ask me to return the next day for a refund, when I refused and demanded cash or a check, suddenly he could use the computer to issue me a refund check! He never apologized.

As a design professional, I am ever loath to leave an ugly reference for someone but in this case, I felt compelled to do so. North Naples Upholstery comes very highly recommended here on Yelp and by other local professionals. They do a great job with pillows, re-upholstery and bedding – and that has certainly been my experience. Window treatments? Absolutely not.

I dropped off a project for them to manufacture in early July consisting of a set of drapes and some stationery roman shades. When I inquired about the order in late September (they had been closed for most of the month of September as a result of damage from Hurricane Irma), I was told that nothing had been done with the project “because of Hurricane Irma.” Hurricane Irma struck on September 10, just over two months after I dropped the project off. The truth of the matter is that the project simply sat for two months, putting me in a very difficult position with my client.

The window treatments were finally completed in mid- November, four months after the project was dropped off. There was no apology from North Naples Upholstery, no consideration for the inconvenience, no level of acceptance of responsibility, just implausible excuses.

This project also included installation of the finished window treatments utilizing traverse rods. As the installers, I asked them to spec out the precise size of the rod that we needed for the installation. You’d think that given the delay that had already occurred, that they would have given this their attention. Nope. Two weeks of calling them and expecting calls back that never came, I finally just picked up the order to find that instead of stationery roman shades, I got roman shade valances. While we can make do, it was not what was ordered. Given this experience, I really felt compelled to post this review.

Repling to Mrs. Maggie Stansfields review:

As a business who has been in Naples since 1973, we take great pride in our work. We make sure our clients/designers are 100% satisfied with the quality of our work. Please do not take offense to this, but I do want to clear this review up.

When we began this project with you, you had first sent and email on 5/16/2016 inquiring. I sent out my guys on 6/25/16, to measure and take notes on any and all detail you wanted. Later on in July, 7/5/2016, I sent over the estimate which stated all the information as to what was going to be done, cost of labor, yardage needed, installation fees and hardware fees as well. This estimate clearly stated that we were to do "Roman Shade Valances". On 6/8/2016 you sent me an email stating to go ahead with this project. To which, you were providing the fabrics. According to my paperwork, you provided us with the fabrics on 7/21/2017.

Yes we had shut down for the month in which Irma hit. Keep in mind that I gave my workroom staff a week off prior to the hurricane so that they too could get their homes ready for Irma. Then upon returning, we had to fix what water damage we did have. My staff didn't begin to work until the first week of October. A project like this would normally take 3-4 weeks, but due to all the inconveniencies we had, it took a bit longer. But you picked your order on 12/04/2017.

With that said, had there been any issues with the product we gave you, you should have brought it back and we would have been more than happy to "fix" whatever issue they might have had. And I do remember, personally apologizing to you. As well as the owner, for what you said was "too long of a wait".

This is your go to place for upholstery fabric. Their prices are incredible and unbeatable. They have a 3 yard minimum purchase, but the prices are only $7 and $14 per yard! And they will cut you as many swatches as you like to take home. Wonderful experience finding this store!
