A family business that offers the best resources, talent and service in the state! If you are designing or even thinking about redecorating you must utilize their professional staff and display/showroom inspiration. I love to work with Angela Camarda, but all are very talented and dedicated to working with any budget. A real treat to have this store available to all and not just the trade.

Their furniture is very expensive and not well made. We have purchased approximately a dozen “heirloom” pieces of furniture from Lillian August over the years — chairs, chest of drawers, tables, sideboard, breakfront, rugs, bench, desk, and more — not one piece has withstood the test of time.

Love the store and the style of the furniture. A bit pricey, but the designs are definitely unique!

Steer Clear!!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

This experience at Lilian August is a bit of a smoke in mirrors show. While the design community laughs behind their backs they pretend to have great customer service and products. We were so psyched to work with their design team on our new house (before we saw behind the kimono). We wish we never walked in their showroom!

We spent over 20k on furniture from their Westport showroom and were completely misled about the quality of their products. Nor only were they misrepresented, we paid extra for insurance and yet the insurance company can’t do their work because Lilian August won’t respond to them. The numbers on their website do not work, the numbers for the showrooms do not work and their products are sub par.

Do not recommend.

We have on order several thousand dollars of furniture in March and April of this year, and were required to pay full in advance to confirm the order - which we processed. We have moved into our new home, and after nearly 9 months still do not have our furniture, nor any recent communication or follow up as to expected arrival. Our (including our Designer) experiences with the Norwalk, CT location, along with a corporate "Director of Operations" include no returned calls, no responses to emails, many times disconnected on transfer of calls, or simply no-one answers the telephone. We are now seeking a full refund to move our purchases to a more professional supplier, as we have procured many other pieces of furniture elsewhere without issue (Covid or not). In summary, as increasingly noted in several reviews, the experience with organization has become completely unprofessional. We are hopeful this review informs & motivates customers to pursue these type of products elsewhere, whereby such unfortunate experiences can be avoided.

Cannot even explain how terrible this company is. They mislead me on my purchase, are rude on the phone and don’t support their products. You cannot get a customer service person on the phone (been trying for many months) and has taken months for my insurance company to even get a quote to replace a cushion cover for a fabric they never should have pushed on me - still have not received the cushion cover. Their own line is terrible quality as is their service is beyond bad. Would give 0 stars if I could.

This store was aways a personal favorite. Sadly, they don't seem to have weathered the Covid storm very well. Not only are there fewer things to buy (if not looking for furniture), NOTHING can be exchanged or returned. I don't think they will continue to stay in business and one store in my town has already closed. It feels like they are desperate for cash.

Although they have nice quality items, there is a major problem with the employees which amazes me that any owner would not be aware of and promptly correct. So many employees and no one approached me even though I stood in the middle of the design center in plain sight holding a big sample in my hand and looking around for help. It was as though I was invisible and it was obvious many employees were not busy!!! I walked past one who was sitting by herself in the middle of the design center, not far from the front door, enjoying her cell phone and never looked up at me or any other potential customers. It is disgusting that this happens and even more surprising that an owner is clueless to business being lost due to worthless employees. I walked out after standing there and having people pass me and not one shared a word of acknowledgement. I drove 35 minutes but to deal with ignorant people like that was not worth the aggravation!!I would fire most of these people if I owned this business!!!!!!
