Stopped into Hayward Tools yesterday! So glad I did! Easy to find, plenty of parking & Nancy was the greatest to work with. The personalized service that you get from someone who has been in the business for many years is second to none!
Great selection & found what I was looking for right away with their great customer service! Highly recommend this place to all Bay Area residents!

It is great that Hayward Tool is in the area and they have a great selection of items but, they are in the difficult position of having to compete with huge retailers and online pricing. They are generally helpful and it they are very handy if you need something and they just happen to have it... Just be willing to pay full retail price for most items.

I went in looking to add power tools to my collection. I try to support small business owners and I believe that this is a privately owned small business.

I spent about 5 mins looking at their outdated and overpriced power tools. Then a older man said from across the room “what are you looking for?”. I said that I wasn’t sure yet. Then he became very rude and told me that I am not allowed to browse the store.

The 2 other employees that were around didn’t even look up, leading me to believe that this was a regular occurrence and that this man (manager?/owner?) did this often to many customers.

I’ll never return to this store, even if I am desperate for a tool.
I myself am a small business owner and I can’t imagine what would go on in someone’s head to speak to a customer this way.

I wish there was an option to give zero stars.
Better hope you never have any problems with your purchase...they will not return or exchange anything after they get your money, despite any signage that says they accept returns.
I bought a nailer, and then found when I got home that it was the wrong type. So I went to exchange it for the right one, and they refused, even though I never used it.
Never again.
