Fine Home Consignments also lists items on Chairish. I found a desk there I wanted and made an offer thru that site. Eric, apparently the owner, calls me (neither Chairish or myself know how he got my number) and states he can accept my offer, but only if I purchase directly and not thru Chairish. I accepted and he was going to see how much shipping would be (Chairish had listed $299). Three days later he calls to tell me he found shipping for $389, which I accepted, but then he tells me he has to take care of other customers and lets me go - before I can pay - and never calls back that day.

That evening, I sent an email to Eric confirming our conversations and that I had wanted to pay but he never called back. The next morning, about an hour after they opened, he emails me the following:

"The part-time sales woman was so proud of herself when i got here this morning. She sold that teak desk. 'That desk was already sold', I told her. There was a SOLD tag on it. 'The customer said it was sold to him. He'd called to say he was taking it', he said, she explained. He lied. It sold online to a man in Texas. She looked like she was going to cry. I am very sorry we couldn't satisfy you."

So what puzzles me - is that even though it was sold to me, and even though someone else called and bought it after me - the fact that it was still in the store is an issue for me. They should have called that person back, refunded their money, and done the right thing by completing our agreement.

In the end - here is my thought of what they did - a full price sale that comes in before the item has left is better than a discounted sale you have already agreed to.

Bought an attractive lift chair for over $1000. After it was delivered, it is making a clicking noise. I called the store and spoke with both owners and was told, “you are more than welcome to contact the manufacturer for assistance.”
They sold a defective product.
THERE ARE CHOICES. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE.

The name of the store tells you what you're going to find inside. This consignment stop has high end furniture and goods with prices to match. The store is arranged wonderfully and is fun to wander through trying to find your treasure. I left with just a couple hardback books and wish I could have bought those cane back dining room chairs.?

Always a grand experience at Fine Home Furnishings, showrooms so intimate, exquisite, you feel serene. FHS are very fastidious of what they consign, an exhilarating change to so many other local stores, the uniqueness of their pieces is exceptional. Truly a find for exceptional furniture shopping, art, or rare, one-of-a-kind piece. Staff, are an additional reward, their knowledge of fine furniture and design is genuine, not indubitable. Showrooms are flawlessly spotless, though not sterile, the comfort you feel while shopping is a rarity in today’s world. I highly recommend Fine Home Consignments, plan on spending some time perusing both stores that are next door to each other, you cannot fully enjoy the store shopping with small children, they would be disinterested in the fineries experience. ,

Associate was very rude and demeaning about price point. I felt judged and embarrassed by a grown man stating the store was out of my price range for the ‘an apartment’ I’m furnishing before I even told him what I was looking to spend. I’ve never been so upset walking out of a store. Do not waste your time or money on this store.

Elegant furniture at very affordable prices. We are very happy with our Windward Sonata lanai table set. Our price was less than half of the new online price and it is in excellent condition. Spencer is very helpful and has exceptionally good taste!
