This is not a bad review or a good review - it's an honest, neutral review.
Bought the cheapest baby lock machine they sell ($750.). I didn't realize they offer little knowledge or support on this model even when it involves a manufacturers recall.
Told by owner of store they sell this model "only when it's requested".
Probably best to make a machine purchase somewhere else where they cater to working class people when it's less than $1500., $2000., $3000., $10,000. Etc.

The most experienced and helpful folks I've ever met. This is the sewing machine I decided to go with in case I decide sewing isn't for me I didn't put too much into it. Highly recommend coming here for beginners and experts alike.

Excellent Repair shop. I brought in a Singer 301A that was my wife's moms and was 50 years old. She was going to throw it away for a minor repair and because of the age didn't think parts were available. Brought it in and Kevin repaired and tuned and cleaned and said it was in excellent shape and running condition. My wife was very happy and pleased. Great place and outstanding people.

You just cannot get service like this anymore anywhere but here. Ron and his wife and their dedicated staff are just incredible people. The level of courtesy and professionalism goes above and beyond. My mother bought me my first Bernina sewing machine and a beautiful Horn table from their old location when I was 16 years old. I still have that machine and table today after several moves and a lot of years.
I recently purchased another machine from them, a used bernina. Ron guided me towards the best option for my needs and price range they never pressured me to buy anything I didn’t need, in fact steering me away from something more expensive. When I got the machine home I felt like something was a little bit off with the stitching. I also noticed the lightbulb under the machine was missing. I hadn’t noticed in the store because we tested it out in a spot where the sun was pretty bright. When I took the machine back they were so lovely and apologetic and fixed it for me right away and free of charge. I just always feel like a valued customer when I am in there and I will be a customer of theirs for life.

Purchased a new Janome Skyline S9 in May , 2020 during the Covid pandemic. Close to Home had the machine I had been interested in and following the guidelines, allowed me a private demonstration on the machine. It really kept me going during the shut down and I put it to good use making masks and pillow cases. This replaced a 30 year old Janome I had. Since then I have been in for a couple of one on one lessons. They have a great staff who are always so helpful, a beautiful selection of fabric and supplies and have a fun “block if the month” which I have been enjoying. They’ve researched questions I’ve had and gotten back to me promptly. Their customer service is great. A wonderful family owned store.
