I love visiting local fabric shops, and this one is one of my favorite ones in the region. I've visited a few times and the people running it are always so friendly and supportive! The selection is great, too! I just got a new sewing machine for Christmas and will for sure be visiting this shop many times in the future.

I wasn't even a customer! Just standing outside in the heat,
waiting for a taxi , when here comes Cate with a chair and a big glass of water! And an offer to come in the store if I got too hot.

I can hardly wait to get back to Cate's, because a quick glance confirmed what other reviewers observed ----------------it's a beautiful
store with a huge selection
of notions and fabrics.

It's a sad commentary to be in such disbelief over someone's caring , yet so often we are buying online, and don't experience
the person we are buying from.

There's no substitute for the relationship between customer and
shopkeeper.

I'm looking forward to another trip to Cate's Sew Modern!

What a local gem for any sewist, quilter or crafter! The selection and quality of the fabrics was very impressive. Cate takes great care and pride in stocking artisanal, unique fabrics, and supplies, and is very helpful and knowledgable. She is also an amazing lady and interesting lady! I am so glad I stopped in, and will be visiting very regularly!

Warm, welcoming. Great Covid 19 protocols in place for safe shopping. So many quality fabrics and unique designs. Good value for money. Highly recommend Cate's for beginners and professionals.

My daughter went to her first class and loved it. The teacher Suzanne was great and personable. I went shopping with my little one and the staff were all super nice. I ended up signing up for a class and got some supplies which was discounted because the class. I can't wait for my turn!

If you're not into modern fabric or Kaffe Fassett it's not worth the trip unless you live close by. The selection of batiks, tonals and blenders was very limited. Also I found the staff person who was at the counter when I walked in the be a bit rude and I believe that it was the owner. I thought that she might have been having an off day but after a brief conversation I found that she was having a good day. ? ?
