Excellent customer service. We love this hardware store. Special shout out to the lovely cashier (closest to the exit door) she brightened our day! So warm and so helpful. We will always return to this hardware store specifically for this particular employee.

Good store, needs to extend hours.
Always finding myself needing someone just before they close.
Only options being wait for tomorrow or go to home Depot, unfortunately I'm not the type to leave things for tomorrow

I just had the best experience at True Value in Mystic. Their service department just fixed two lawnmowers in a timely manner for a very reasonable price. Their service man, Howard , was beyond wonderful and accommodating . He provided the service of picking up the machines and returning them to me as I couldn’t get them to the store myself. This was so helpful to a senior citizen who was very upset at having damaged 2 machines and didn’t know where to turn ! Howard was great at answering any question I had. THANK YOU ,TRUE VALUE , FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS BY HIRING SOMEONE AS COMPETENT AS HOWARD !

Always has what you need and if you can't find something employees are quick to help. Help with loading heavy objects too!
I needed a tool bag. 2 I had were too small and too big. Found one here, perfect size, for a decent price.

I have been shopping here for years, sometimes going in daily, as I need some odds and ends and it's faster to go here than all the way to the big stores. The managers and employees know me and have always been pleasant enough.

Recently, there has been an unnerving trend of "anti-mask" throughout the store. Regardless of personal opinions, there is a current mandate. Both customers and employees are blatantly ignoring this.

Upon leaving and then calling the store to speak with the manager regarding this, he quickly brushed away my concerns with a canned response, even after I urged him to take the situation and mask mandate more seriously.

I will no longer be shopping here.

Lucky to have True Value Hardware in Mystic. They have won a national award for the best local hardware store in the country and I can see why. They have most of what I need, prices are reasonable on most things and there are always plenty of people to help. I may be able to find it cheaper at Home Depot if I want to take an extra two hours out of my day to drive there and walk around trying to find someone who can help me. I always seem to have a box of things I need to return to Home Depot sitting in the back of my car since whatever help they do provide is often wrong. In the end, I find myself back at True Value, saves me money in the end.

Great customer service.. Really great return help. I didnt have a receipt. They looked up my item, time and date of purchase. Cant remember if it was returned or exchanged. But, you wont find that at Home Depot. Good luck finding anyone at Home Depot .
