No consideration for anyone else. Wouldn’t stop from leaf blowing on a Saturday morning at 7 a.m. despite noise ordinances. You could’ve waited. One of the most rude, obtuse local companies we have. They blew dust into someone’s eyes while she went on a walk. They wouldn’t stop because they’re setting up for an event. (I’m glad she was okay)

After response: So because it was a successful event that makes it for the better? Way to show your love of commerce instead of the community that surrounds you and has been under a certain amount of stress because of the ongoing freeway work that happens whenever. That coupled with your company’s lack of forethought and care is really telling. I’m glad you had a successful event though.

This store is nothing short of amazing. From furniture, gifts, and home decor, to gourmet food, appliances (Wolf, Sub Zero, Smeg, etc.), eventful workshops, and SO much more — I just love this Humboldt County staple. There is truly no better place to shop than here!

I attended a fun fall workshop last year at The Carl Johnson Company and had SO much fun! They keep a rotating list of workshops all year round, so I always check to see what they might be offering. Would highly recommend!

They also have a wide selection of gifts, home decor, furniture, and so much more!

This company obviously uses shill bidders during their auctions. Process plays out like this. You put in a reserve price that you are willing to go up to, but no higher. Company which obviously can see this bid, has someone anonymous, place bid just under yours, causing your reserve bid to trigger automatically. This is apparent as moments after my wife put in her bid for a piece of furniture (nice piece of furniture, we went in to see it) an auction that had been going up by $10.00 increments suddenly jumped by $200.00, to just below her reserve bid, triggering her high bid. This happened on more than one auction upon which she bid. A lady at working at the store during the preview hours suggested placing this reserve, to avoid getting caught up in "auction fever". Now I wonder if it wasn't to insure maximum profit.
Quite disappointing, as we are customers of this store, but the process was so obvious... I would advise NEVER place a reserve bid, it will be used against you.
The furniture is worth what we will ultimately pay for it, but getting a few hundred dollars more at the expense of your reputation seems a poor business practice.

Such a special store with an amazing history and community!! There are so many beautiful things offered for many different occasions. This is definitely a place of interest if you are looking for furniture, gifts for friends/family, appliances, decor for your living room and kitchen or just wanting to enjoy the company of super friendly staff! The store’s emphasis on having great appreciation for the local area and it’s members is very present as there are multiple locally owner business owner’s products available!

Friendly helpful so much cool stuff. Some of it a little pricey for what it was but if you know what you want and find it I think they would work with you. This is what we got 135. Not too bad
