I had high hopes for this company when I reached out to them for custom storage solutions in my new construction home in Lake Clarke Shores. Unfortunately, their lack of reliability and attention to detail left me deeply disappointed.

After calling twice to schedule an appointment, I was told I would be meeting with their "master designer," Caroline Archer. However, she missed two previously scheduled meetings without any notice or follow-up. Whether due to an overwhelming workload or simple forgetfulness, it became clear that this company does not prioritize its customers.

This experience reflects a common issue with large, factory-style national chains—they simply do not offer the personalized service and care that a smaller, locally owned business would. If you're looking for a company that values your time and provides the attention to detail your home deserves, I would strongly recommend exploring other options.

Horrible company to deal with. We ordered closets a year ago and are still waiting to have the job finished. They were supposed to install the closets on November 27 of last year. We are now in February and we are still missing drawers, shelves, and handles. The owner told us that the handles are on back order and are not available. I called the manufacturer of the door handles, ordered them, and they will be delivered in three days. I have not gotten an excuse yet why they cannot produce the missing shelves and drawers.

They have been by our home at least five or six times to finish the job and each time something is wrong or something is missing. They cannot seem to get the job done. The right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing.

I would strongly discourage anyone from ever dealing with this company.

I always give people/company the benefit of the doubt but the way this company deals with customer is disappointing. The designer I worked with was very good and professional but the rest is a disaster. Pictures speak for themselves. It has been taking more than two months for them to come back and to repair the poor work they've done.This is the worst company that I ever had to deal with it. They are very unprofessional, no respect for the customers time and money. They charged my card right after the installation was complete, so I have paid for it in full and don't see any possibility to have it back or to be compensated. They have very bad customer service. Unpleasant experience.

I’ve used California Closets several times in the past so I knew that my new closet project should be CC. Keri my designer was fabulous. She is detailed oriented and a true wiz at her design software. I appreciated her advice and suggestions, her experience shows! I really could not have found a better person to help me make so many decisions, and she was the best of all my previous CC designers.

The installation was also great. The installer was efficient, competent, and polite. The new closet was beautiful and he left the space immaculate. Lastly he was early and the installation was fast!

I love my new closet, the space is efficient and the quality is great.

The whole experience with Fort Lauderdale California Closets was seamless. I highly recommend Keri and all the nice people at the California Closets in Fort Lauderdale.

I had Cal Closets install new closets in my master bedroom, his and hers. We included a safe provided by Cal Closets in our design which would go into one of the closets. On installation day I was informed for the first time that the safe was not on the truck, and one of the fixed shelves was also not on the truck. These would be delivered and installed at a later date. I was surprised and disappointed that I was not informed of this in advance. Seemed unprofessional to me.

After some back and forth, we arranged a date for the delivery and installation of the safe and shelf. Originally Cal Closets tried to give me an all day window but I insisted that since this was a second install date I should not have to wait around all day and they agreed to a 2 hour window. Seemed crazy that I should have to insist on this.

The safe was installed while I was working from home. The installer was rushed and at the end of the work day I went to set up the safe. I saw immediately that it was defective. Paint chipped on the inside of the safe and the door was sagging and rubbing at the corner upon opening and closing the door. I sent 5 photos of this damage and reported it to CC. They asked me to make a video, what? I was told they planned to contact the safe company. But I did not understand why I should be in the middle of this. The damage was clear from the photos. No apology nothing.

I sent an email to Corporate and then finally got a response. They have the designer, Keri, now addressing this which is odd to me. Does this Franchise have so few people working they cannot address issues like this without having to be blocked by the availability of 1 person?

I also have to note that CC 'communicates' (and I use the term loosely) with me via a nameless text person who only identifies themselves as 'California Closets'. Really odd and unprofessional.

CC marks up the price on this safe so they should inspect the safe before it is put on the truck for installation.

After no success in dealing with CC, I contacted the safe company directly and shared the same 5 photos I had sent to CC. They immediately told me that the safe was defective and would not work properly and told me to contact CC, which I did.

But CC is just offering me money to keep the safe, without even knowing if the safe works or a refund for them to take the safe. This is crazy. They don't seem to be at all embarrassed or apologetic that they delivered and installed an obviously defective safe. And this after I was forced to wait for it AND have to arrange another install date.

CC has acted very unprofessionally. I don't hear from anyone for days.

I now seriously doubt the value of their 'guarantee'.

Wendy Kis, our California Closet designer, very patiently helped us design unique cabinets to house storage and speakers in our music room. Speakerworks, a company in Oregon recommended California Closets as a company that could meet our specific needs with a custom product. We are extremely satisfied with the result.

Initial consult at my home was June 7. I did not receive a follow up call from the sales rep, Michael, until June 26. At that time it was to set up a consult to start discussing the plans. On June 10, I met with another Closet company, that same week the sales rep had my plans done, I'd been to their showroom, their warehouse, and signed a contract. Their re-measure team has already been out to my location, and my cabinets and closets are in production, install will be in three weeks. Over $35k worth of cabinets and closets, and that's the level of customer service. Thank God for the other company, Closet Factory. Ask for Stephanie. She's amazing. Could never recommend California Closets.
