Dave and Darlene were always kind and professional, but unfortunately that isn’t always enough.

Dave had repaired our Samsung Dryer, and was among only a couple of companies that will do work on Samsungs, so I kept his contact info. I called him about an issue with our GE microwave, which turned out to be a bad electrical outlet, and that was fine too.

That’s where the good part of the story ends…

Dave pointed out a noisy refrigerator fan while he was here for the microwave call; in his attempt to triage it, he broke a fan blade. Still, I agreed that it sounded like it was on its way out, so I asked him to go ahead and order the part and schedule a follow up. He came back within a few days and replaced the fan. That was great!

In the months that followed, our water reservoir froze numerous times, the ice maker stopped working, and the contents of the produce drawers froze repeatedly. Months went by, and we lived with it; all told, this is a first world problem that we could live with.

Well, then our cooktop failed, which I thought was under warranty, so I called GE. While the GE Service Technician was here, I had him look at our refrigerator. He ended up replacing the water reservoir which had cracked and the T frame ( Not sure if that’s the right term). That didn’t fix it, so I called him back out a few days later (water reservoir frozen again). He almost thought it was the strangest issue ever until I mentioned work had been done on it by another technician. He replaced the fan.

As it would turn out, the fan Dave installed was rigged with wire nuts to fit, and the fan was blowing air the wrong way. Within 12 hours of the GE Technician leaving, the water reservoir was thawed, the ice maker was working, and we have food back in the produce drawers with no issues.

So I asked Dave to cover the cost of the GE repairs, reasonable I thought. Dave refused. I was told that I should have called them to fix it, that was I explained was a matter of opinion (strange, I thought, since the reality of the matter was obvious every day).

Instead, I was offered a complementary service call.

“It is not our policy to pay for past service from another company. We are willing to give credit in the future if you would be willing to use it. Unfortunately this is the best we can offer.”

No thank you! I’d rather cut my losses and leave a review.

Fast and friendly service call. Had a problem with washing machine. I called them in the afternoon and had a technician at my house the next day. Excellent communication and arrived on time. Very nice experience from start to finish. Highly recommend Boulevard Appliance!

I had an over range microwave installed and Dave did a fantastic job. He was quick, tidy and very pleasant. He even checked ot a problem with my washer. I highly recommend Boulevard Appliance.

We had to have them come to our house to do warantee work on our appliance. Didn't show up, after we took off work. Showed up the 2nd time. They said they had to order parts and would come back. Never came back. I called them and they hung up on me 3 times. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!

These guys have taken care of me for 40 years and are the best, most honest and reliable. Their prices are so reasonable and there is nothing they cannot fix. The lady who answers the phone is so nice, contrary to the other review.

Had called regarding a leaking ice-maker line... was given an appointment for a week later... after being told the cost and that if I wanted to use a credit card there was a 3% additonal fee added to the total bill, I believe I said forget it... However, I might not have... The service man showed up today yelling hello at the other end of the house, and when I went to the door, he said he was here for the refrigerator.... I was somewhat confused, but told him I'd fixed it at witch time he siad they'll be billing me anyway, and I replied go ahead, and he then told me if I didn't pay it they would take it to collections..... I called the company and was called back... I had a lot going on last week, and my husband had to have surgery on Friday... So if I had the appt and did forget to cancel it, NEVER was I told if you cancel you'll need to pay the bill anyway.... NEVER... I'm 65, I don't need to be threatened by a repair man, as NO ONE SHOULD.... I was told 3 times on the phone that time was spent sending out someone to you that could have been used for someone else.... and I apologized, but this still does notd warrent being charged their service call unless they had sent me something in writting regarding that, and again I was NEVER told that over the phone on the original call... I've been in the Rehoboth Beach/Longnece area since 1996 and Boulevard Appliance has been here longer... They use to be located on RT1 next to Exotic Flowers... I was told this matter would be taken to the owener, and I did request he give me a call... this is not like I did this with intention...
