I called 3-4 places to check about getting a garage door opener either fixed or replaced. Kurt was the only person on the phone who even pretended that a repair or a fix for $250 less than getting a replacement might be an option. When he come to the house he checked out the current opener and made a minor repair that has my door working now.

Can't speak to the others regarding their issues in these reviews but if you are interested in hiring a person that will do less expensive repair work than replacement work if it's possible then try American Door - it worked for me - I have a garage door opener working and I spent $250 less than expected.

11/1815 I called and spoke with Kurt.. I set up for him to go out and bid a door that needed to replaced. After about 2-3 days I called him to ask where the proposal was. "Oh, i'm not in the office at the moment... I'll send it to you when I get back in.." Great? Yeah sure. That's how three phone calls went over the span of 2 weeks. My last two phone calls went to voicemail and he has yet to call me back. If you didn't want to replace the door or felt as if you weren't able to, a profession courteous of "hey.. can't do this" would've been acceptable. Over a month and i'm still waiting.

I will never refer anyone to this "business."
Wasted my time.

Had these guys scheduled to come out and give me an estimate. Nobody showed so I called them and Terry said he'd come right over. He did. Gave me a verbal estimate on the repair which was a great price and then said he needed to go back and check if the parts were in Stock and he'd call me. That was Tuesday. No call by the following Monday I called and Terry said oh yeah I called and left you a message (he didnt) and I don't have your paperwork but I'll be back in the office in an hour and I'll call you. He didnt. I'm done chasing these guys. How unprofessional.

I am an Air Force member that followed up several times as to the installation of a door our unit paid for over a year ago. Apparently, there was a lapse with the installation company/contract side of things and we continue to get the run around. I spoke with Terry who stated that Kurt would be overnighting him a key to access our door and materials ...Terry did not return my call in 30 minutes as promised, nor could he provide me with a supervisor/manager information which it turns out through reading these reviews that this is Kurt. How does your company stay in business

American Door put in a garage door for me. It worked for a while, but while still under warranty the remote controls would not work anymore. After repeated calls they replaced the remote controls and that worked for about a week. Now the door will not open or close with the remote openers. I've called and left messages. several days later someone called and said they were out of town and would call when they returned. I've called again and no return call. I do not recommend this company!!!

WARNING BUSINESS Must be CLOSED...... a rep posing as the owner Kurt came to my business after a week of calling, said he would do the job, and would send me a proposal with pricing. Never answered any calls or emails after that. THIS COMPANY IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL, IF THEY OFFERED TO DO THE WORK FOR FREE I WOULD TRUST THEM......

Sincerest thanks to American Door Company and Curt who fixed my garage door issue (would not open) the very same day I called. Importantly, I had received a previous estimate from Precision Overhead Garage Door Service which was more than 4x the cost of American Door Company. Beyond my obvious delight at saving so much money, Curt was professional, punctual and the door is working perfectly.

It goes without saying that I highly recommend Curt and American Door Company!

Liars, Curt would avoid calling me back. I would call from my cell and he would not answer because know my number. I would borrow a friends phone and call and he would answer right away.
This happened 2 different times having to use 2 different friends phones. Once I called from an unknown phone he would answer.
Very flakey. Dont waste your time. Call someone more reputable.
