One of the employee is either discriminating or too lazy to call next number for service. He need to be sue for discrimination. He look at about 10 waiting customers mostly Hispanic and Asian and said who is next? we told him your store have a number system so he said who have a lowest number after that he mumble something "like you guys don't want help" and walk away then talk and joke with other employee. I confront him that you need to call the next number and he finally did.

Subject: Mixed Experiences at Economy Lumber - Kudos to Mike, Frustration with Adam

I recently had two contrasting experiences while dealing with Economy Lumber, and I wanted to share my thoughts on both encounters.

Firstly, I had the pleasure of working with Mike, who went above and beyond to assist me. Mike not only provided excellent customer service but also showed a genuine understanding of my non-professional status. His willingness to offer guidance and support made my visit enjoyable and fruitful. In fact, I was so appreciative of his assistance that I happily contributed to their beer fund as a token of my gratitude. Kudos to Mike for making my experience at Economy Lumber a positive one.

On the other hand, my interaction with Adam was quite disappointing. Unlike Mike, Adam seemed uninterested in helping non-professional customers. His lack of assistance and apparent disinterest gave the impression that Economy Lumber is not welcoming to individuals like me. This experience left me frustrated and reconsidering whether I want to continue purchasing from Economy Lumber in the future.

It's disheartening to have such conflicting experiences with a single establishment. While Mike exemplified exceptional customer service, Adam's approach was discouraging. I hope that Economy Lumber takes note of these varied encounters and ensures that all customers, regardless of their level of expertise, feel valued and welcomed.

I ordered heart redwood for delivery and most of it was marked or damaged in some way. It seemed as if the material that I received had come from the bottom of a very old pile as it was pretty beat up or warped. Fortunately I was still able to use the wood with some staining and hiding of the damaged parts. IMO, don't purchase wood from here that you have not checked/selected yourself.

Also, the ordering process was surprisingly difficult. I have had better experiences elsewhere.

great lumber store. too bad they are getting bought out and employees not being treated well by new owners. I'll reach out here Hayward lumber, why are you doing away with special pricing for the scouts of America? why are you making existing staff reapply? why are you doing away work bonuses? why are you taking holiday days off away?
