I had a great experience with A-1 Appliance. They provided prompt service. I expected to be informed I needed a new refrigerator but was pleasantly surprised when I was told I just needed a new panel. They also repaired a second refrigerator in the garage for a reasonable fee. I was called by the owner, Miriam, today to come get a refund because they ended up not having to replace a part. I was not expecting that but very honest & hardworking repairmen & business owner. Support our local businesses. I would recommend them in the future.

Our ice maker recently stopped working so I called A1 Appliance on Ramsey in Banning since they were close to where I live. I was charged $245 for the replacement part which I assumed was the part and installation costs since I could order the part myself for $47 - $83 online. When the part came in I was told to come in to pick it up. I asked if they were going to install as part of the original charge which they said no. I brought the part home and noticed that the box had the correct part number but the actual part inside the box had the wrong part number which was useless to me. I called and was told that the owner would be in the next day so that I could discuss returning the incorrect part for a refund and offered to pay their re-stocking fee even though this is entirely their fault, not mine.
Owner said that their policy, not disclosed to me verbally or written on original receipt, is not to give refunds, exchanges only. She said however she would do refund with a 20% restocking fee. Couldn’t do anything today because credit card machine wasn’t working! She said to take part back home and she will call when credit is inputted.
2 weeks later - Still can’t do credit card refunds-issued a check minus 20% restocking

My mother, whose in her 80s and lives at Sun Lakes, she had called them to come out to fix something as simple as a push button problem with her dishwasher and a filter on her refrigerator. The person was out there for about eight minutes to fix both items one which didn’t require any work at all, but just to tell her to push the button down more, the company decided to charge her $380 for eight minutes worth of work.

It is companies like this take advantage of people and ones that you want to avoid. I was told that she would be making sure that they have their company name removed from the referral listfor Sun Lakes. I would recommend that you find another company to deal with as this one does not seem very honest.

Twice the technician came with two different solutions to my refrigerator not cooling and not freezing. After $400 no results. The technicians were just guessing at what was wrong. I ended ordering a new fridge

My dishwasher started making loud noises and since it was 14 years old I was worried. David and Adrian came out and said it was easy to replace the water pump and that my dishwasher was in good condition. They were nice guys and I felt like I was in good hands. I called after the shop was closed, but the next morning Miriam called me back. After an educational discussion, I showed up with a few parts I had removed from my dryer. They tested the parts, explained all my options and choices clearly. I ended up fixing my own appliance and saving significantly. I know the fix is probably going to last less than a year, but when I need to replace it I am coming here. A family run business that has served our community for decades. The office shows many of the charities they support. It is easy to just go to a big box store or warehouse & buy a new appliance-instead, please consider supporting a small business run by a caring family that gives to their community. As I disassembled my dryer, I lost a small spring retaining clip. When I got home I realized they gave me another one at no charge. Bilingual with true customer service orientation!
