We read the reviews and had to come. We needed a new rug for our living room after removing the WTW carpet and putting down fresh tile. We wanted something special. Needless to say, we were overwhelmed with the quality of the selections and with the dedicated, attentive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic personal service from the owner, Sia Farshi. We have had the rug for a month now and love it! Gorgeous! Such high quality and for a very reasonable price considering the hand craftsmanship (all his rugs are hand crafted, BTW). We will be back for future rug needs, that is for sure! Would give more stars if I could!

Sia, the store owner, is a master of his craft - he grew up in the industry, had funny and really interesting stories to share about his brushes with celebrities and was a genuinely nice guy.

Please get to Winterpark Rug Gallery immediately! I stopped by this afternoon to get an appraisal on a rug that’s been in my family since the early 1980s and met the Shop’s owner, Sia. I cannot adequately express to you the level of kindness, empathy, humanity, and most certainly, expert knowledge he displayed in his examination of my family’s massive rug, and the conversation we enjoyed as a result.

As such things can take time, we had an opportunity to chat and get to know each other a bit and Sia is fascinating. He’s been exclusively in the fine rug business for more than forty years. His shop is like a an exclusive museum and his knowledge and expertise about rugs is simply amazing, not to mention interesting. He has so many unique and truly one of a kind items in his store. I genuinely learned so much today and he has an authenticity of spirit that permeated our entire interaction.

I asked him to show me his favorite pierces and I was not disappointed. He has one massive all silk rug that is from the 1860s, and another extremely rare and stunning Persian rug worth in excess of $85k! Not to worry though, he also has authenicated and beautiful pieces starting at a modest $300. One thing particular to his entire store is that you won’t find a single rug that isn’t hand-knotted! I consider myself a rug snob now after learning so much today. For example, I learned that my family’s 10X12 rug likely took over two years to create! Every single knot of my rug, and every single rug in his store, is tied by actual human hands, one knot at a time and that should certainly make us all more greatly appreciate the art that truly is a fine rug.

Sia honed his expertise in Boston and NYC earlier in his long career where he lectured for a time about the very things he generously taught me today. I suppose that makes him a scholarly rug nerd and that’s exactly what you need when purchasing a piece of “floor art.” I highly and enthusiastically recommend starting here if you are in the market for a truly unique rug made from natural silk or wool and meticulously tied by human hands! You will enjoy meeting Sia and exploring his museum-like store.
